Since starting his career in the financial world in 2007 and serving clients in his current role since 2012, Gary’s passion for helping individuals and businesses with their financial needs has not waivered. Prior to joining S&B Financial Services, he worked at a community bank in varying roles. Today, Gary focuses his attention on providing his clients with tailored financial solutions designed to help them get to where they aspire to be.
Gary enjoys working with new clients, strengthening existing client relationships, and takes pride in the level of service he provides. He implements a simple, needs-based approach to planning that ensures his clients’ best interests are fulfilled. He feels achieving financial goals are best accomplished with well-thought-out plans that are customized to the individual and executed alongside an advisor. Gary offers his clients a spectrum of services and communicates his recommendations in a clear and concise way. Above all else, Gary strives to maintain a high level of integrity and aims to help those he works with accomplish all they set out to do.
In addition to earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine, Gary holds highly-regarded accreditations including the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation, the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation, his life, accident, and health insurance license, and his FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, & 65 securities registrations.
Originally from Saco, Maine, Gary finds helping people who live and work in his own backyard to be the most rewarding aspect of his job. He continues to reside in the area he is from and enjoys the life he has made alongside his wife and two young boys. A die-hard New England sports fan, Gary also enjoys the local coffee shop and brewery scenes the area has to offer. He loves and takes advantage of the Maine outdoors, whether it is hunting, fishing, skiing, or camping. Most of all, he values his relationship with his family and his faith.
The Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation signifies specialized knowledge of fiduciary responsibility and the ability to implement policies and procedures that meet a defined standard of care. The designation is the culmination of a rigorous training program, which includes a comprehensive, closed-book final examination under the supervision of a proctor, and agreement to abide by the Center’s Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards. On an ongoing basis, completion of continuing education and adherence to the Code of Ethics and Conduct Standards are required to maintain the AIF designation.
Graduates of the CRPC® Program must complete a specialized independent study course that provides a general foundation for giving retirement planning advice to clients. The course covers key issues that occur throughout all phases of retirement planning. The designation is awarded to students after they successfully complete the course, pass a proctored final examination, and sign a code of ethics commitment and declaration form. The CRPC® Program prepares individuals for the changing demands of the retirement planning profession. The CRPC® curriculum emphasizes the importance of understanding each client’s individual financial situation, and then analyzing his or her related needs and identifying investment opportunities that will best meet those needs.
